Licensing
|
Under Florida law, as of this writing on 3/07/08, all motorized vehicles operated on the public roads of this state require some class of operator's license issued by a state. Two-wheeled and three-wheeled vehicles of less than 50cc engine displacement may be operated by a person holding a valid Class E or better license, with no motorcycle endorsement necessary. More information is available on the Florida Senate web site:
Chapter 20: Motor Vehicle Licenses
Anyone can buy a motor vehicle. You only need an ID card for that. You just can't operate the vehicle without a license.
Any two-wheeled or three-wheeled vehicle registered to operate on the road in Florida, and which is classified as a motorcycle, requires a motorcycle endorsement to ride.
